What the repair involves

• A copy of the drive made before anything else, so the original is never worked on

How it works

2. 2We reply with what the fault is likely to be and a quote.
3. 3Bring it to Shop 23, Gateway Hotel Building, Meena Bazaar, with the charger. We message you when it is done and tested.

Questions we get asked

My drive is clicking. Can you recover it?

Sometimes. Clicking means a mechanical fault, and the chances fall every time it is powered on. Switch it off now and bring it in, and we will tell you plainly whether it is a job for our bench or for a clean-room specialist.

My MacBook died and the files are on it. Are they gone?

Not necessarily. On a MacBook with soldered storage the data is usually intact and the board is what failed. Our board-level repair is often enough to bring the machine up long enough to copy everything off.

Will you see my files?

Only as far as the recovery needs: we check that files open and are complete, not what is in them. Your recovered files go onto the drive you take home.
