This is the work most of the street sends away. A board fault usually means one failed component — a power rail, a charging IC, a corroded trace — and replacing the entire board can cost more than the laptop is worth. We work at component level with a microscope and hot air, which means the repair is often a fraction of a board swap. It also means we will tell you honestly when a board is beyond saving.

Questions we get asked
- What is chip-level repair, and why does it matter?
- Instead of replacing the whole logic board, the individual failed component on it is replaced. Boards are the most expensive part of a laptop, so this is usually the difference between a repair that makes sense and one that does not.
- What if you cannot fix it?
- Then there is nothing to pay. Diagnosis is free, and we would rather tell you a machine is finished than take money for a repair that will not hold.
- My MacBook shows no sign of life at all. Is it worth bringing in?
- Yes — a completely dead machine is often a single failed power component, which is one of the more straightforward board repairs. Bring the charger with it.
