The small parts of a laptop fail one at a time and they are each a quick, cheap job that is easy to put off. A grinding fan is the one not to put off, because when it stops the machine overheats. Speakers, cameras, microphones and Wi-Fi cards are replaced with the part for your model, and we check first whether it is the part or just a setting, because sometimes it is the setting.
What the repair involves
- A settings and driver check first, so you are not charged for a part you do not need
- Fans replaced, with the heatsink cleaned while it is open
- Speakers, cameras and microphones replaced with the part for the model
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth cards and antennas replaced, and the connection tested at the counter
How it works

- 2We reply with what the fault is likely to be and a quote.
- 3Bring it to Shop 23, Gateway Hotel Building, Meena Bazaar, with the charger. We message you when it is done and tested.
Questions we get asked
- My camera shows a black screen on calls. Is it broken?
- Often it is a privacy setting, a shutter, or an app that has not been given permission. We check that first. If the camera itself has failed, it is replaced.
- The fan is loud all the time. Does it need replacing?
- Loud and smooth usually means dust and dried paste, which is our thermal service. Grinding, rattling or silence means the fan itself, which is replaced.
- Wi-Fi works on my phone but not the laptop. What is it?
- Usually a driver or a setting, sometimes the card, and on a laptop with a damaged hinge, the antenna cable. We find which in the check-up.
