Every laptop battery is a consumable, and most are past their best after three or four years. On many HP, Dell and Lenovo models the battery is a separate pack and the swap is quick; on thin machines it is glued in, which we handle too. Send us the model number and we will tell you whether we hold the pack or need to bring it in.
What the repair involves
- A battery health report read from the machine: design capacity against what is left, and the cycle count
- A replacement pack matched to the model, fitted and calibrated
- The old pack disposed of properly, and a swollen one handled as the hazard it is
How it works
- Message us the model and the fault. The model number is enough for us to tell you whether we have the part.
- We reply with what the fault is likely to be and a quote.
- Bring it to Shop 23, Gateway Hotel Building, Meena Bazaar, with the charger. We message you when it is done and tested.
Questions we get asked
On Windows, open Command Prompt, type powercfg /batteryreport and open the file it names. Compare Design Capacity with Full Charge Capacity: under about 60 percent, it is due. Or bring it in and we read it for you.
