A trackpad that has stopped clicking is often not the trackpad at all — on a MacBook it is frequently a swollen battery pushing up from underneath. We check that first, because replacing a trackpad over a swollen cell fixes nothing and is genuinely unsafe.

Questions we get asked
- My trackpad clicks on its own. What causes that?
- Almost always pressure from underneath, which means a swelling battery. Stop using the machine and bring it in — this one should not wait.
- Is a Force Touch trackpad repairable?
- Yes. It needs recalibration after fitting, which is part of the job rather than an extra.
- Can you do it while I wait?
- Usually, if we hold the part. Message the model over WhatsApp before you come and we will confirm.
