Most infections are not dramatic. They sit in the background, slow the machine, change the browser and steal what they can. We remove what is there, close the hole it came through, and put the machine back the way it was, with your files untouched. If you have paid someone over the phone or typed a password into a fake page, tell us, because what to do next matters more than the cleaning.

- Windows or macOS updated and the protection it already has switched on properly
- Plain advice on what let it in and what to change, including passwords if they may have been taken
How it works
- 1Message us the model and the fault. The model number is enough for us to tell you whether we have the part.
- 2We reply with what the fault is likely to be and a quote.
- 3Bring it to Shop 23, Gateway Hotel Building, Meena Bazaar, with the charger. We message you when it is done and tested.
Questions we get asked
- A warning on my screen says to call a number. Should I?
- No. A real virus warning never gives a phone number. Close the browser, switch the machine off if it will not close, and bring it in. Do not pay anyone who calls you.
- Will you need to wipe the laptop?
- Rarely. Most infections can be removed with everything kept. Where a wipe is the only safe option, we back up your files first and put them back after.
- Can a MacBook get a virus?
- Less often than Windows, but adware and browser hijackers are common on Macs, and the symptoms are the same. The cleaning is the same job.
